Look how big this tuna steak was! It is on my white serving dish that I'd served the smelt on. I couldn't finish it! I asked the fish seller if there was any difference between a larger fish and smaller and he said nothing, but I'm pretty sure the larger cuts are fishier tasting.

These were from last night, 7/3/11. A pair of sandhill cranes are nesting on the back lake this year! What do I call the noise they make? A 'caw'? Like a crow? It was tremendously loud and I was close by. The sound I could hear carrying great distance. It was wonderful. When I pulled the kayak out of the lake I was blessed to capture once again beautiful PULGADA!
