mega poopers!

Today I saved a turtle that was stuck upside down on it's shell in the driveway. I assume it had fallen off the driveway ledge. I put it back up into the grass and we watched each other for a while. They have such beautiful eyes! Later I took the kayak down to the lake and found swans preening themselves so I hung out with them for a long time and eventually did some fishing and caught some largemouth bass. Great day!

Pickerel

I had snagged a lure on a dock post and as I was drifting in to retrieve it I spotted this baby pike. It stayed so motionless that I debated it was just a piece of plant root or something. I saw it's dorsal fin moving and I grabbed my camera and stuck my hand underwater and TRIED to got some good shots. These were the best I got. The odd thing is this: it moved for a few minutes into the weeds and when it came out of the weeds it definitely looks much lighter than before like it was changing color like a cameleon camoflages. I am trying to find some facts on this but haven't come up with anything yet.

Cheiracanthium mildei

OR the yellow sac spider-
I'd identified this tonight and relearned how to identify the brown recluse spider, which the yellow sac is often misidentified as. Here is a link:
