Checking In

Very happy.
Just talked with my best friend.

Camping

Picture of the trail to walk-in to the camp sites. I preferred the more private walk-in sites. I felt very alone out there by myself around the fire, but then I remembered there was at least 1500 other campers nearby. I timed myself setting up the tent and it took about 20 minutes. An owl hooted loudly nearby and that seemed to be the call to all animals to come out of hiding. A bold raccoon came up to see if it could find a meal.

Beatle at Bass Lake

Moss and Ferns

I thought you would love this pic !!! I wish you could have been here with me.
The simple natural beauty of this pathway is so peaceful. The trails were so soft and comfortable to walk. Beatle and I walked 2.4 miles that day. This is around Bass Lake.

Our 1st Road Trip

Beatle did very well adjusting to riding in the Element. He seemed to enjoy the time. He gets along with everyone so well.
Hiked with my parents to a beautiful bluff overlooking sleeping bear dunes and the village of Empire.

Sacred fawn

I had in incredible moment watching an innocent and curious fawn walk out towards me from a washout on the shore. Eventually after a couple minutes the doe appeared and calmly starting communicating to the fawn. I quietly slipped away...
And a smallmouth bass reflecting brightly.

Aug 15 River

I like this shot with Daren to the left and a (blue?) heron flying away on the far right of the picture.
We were pirchedwith the noses of our kayaks barely on a rock facing up against the current; just sitting there balancing and fishing the faster current.

Safe Portage

We put in at a public access and paddled quite a ways to the damn not knowing if there was an easy way to portage the damn to the other side and on down the river.

Power Plant

This is the power plant at the damn on Morrow Lake on the Kalamazoo River.
